Hi!

We've just been assigned to a case officer through NZIS - London (submitted the ITA on October 20, 2006). they've asked me (as the primary applicant - it myself and my husband, no kids) for evidence of my intent to pursue skilled employment. I have 17 years experience in IT with an MBA - software development, implementation management, and IT strategy.

What kind of evidence might be helpful? I have the following:
1) contact info for the recruiters I've been working with
2) email traffic between myself and the recruiters
3) info sheets submitted to the recuiters
4) NZ formatted CV
5) letter of reference from current and past employers and clients

Any other ideas other than a very forceful "I promise"?

Sounds like you have it covered.....

They are basically making sure that you understand the job hunting process, and are not going to arrive here clueless, and you know where to go for jobs in your field.

They may also ask you if you have savings to support yourselves during the job hunt process...

Hubby basically told them pretty much what you have said, about agencies & stuff, said he would be prepared to take a lower skilled job in the first instance, and that we had savings, no evidence of any of this was requried by our case officer.

We actually included the savings info with the application (it was one of our evidentiary items for partnership - 12 months of joint bank account statements at the same address), so I would be surprised if they ask for it again.

Regarding "NZ formatted CV", my contacts at various NZ recruiters provided me with formats/guidance on changing my US resume (no more than 2 pages) to a "NZ CV" which ends up being around 7 pages. Basically, a one page summary, five pages of detailed project/experience descriptions, and one page on IT qualifications and references.

I'll send the template to anyone interested...
