I lodged my application for residency (partnereship category) on Friday at NZ house. I received a letter today acknowledging. I have been put on computer to await a case officer which will be allocated in the next 8 weeks and then I should hear their final decision in the two to four months after it has been allocated.
In the letter they "strongly advise I not make any irreversible travel plans to NZ until the outcome of application is finally determined". I am hoping this is nor set in concrete as the sale of our house is about to go through & we hope to be going to NZ as soon as this happens! I did mention this at NZ house and he just said to let them know my new address over there and they would be ok with that.
So I will just have to wait and see.
Good luck with yours, I would think you will get a letter soon.:nice1

Just to let you know that I spoke to our case officer yesterday to enquire about timescales and he said that the paperwork should be on his desk within a week of it being received at NZ House and then he should acknowledge receipt within another week. I asked him about whether i should book flights yet and he advised that he could not give any guarantees about timescales even though I have a job offer .

If you have a job offer, everything SHOULD be sorted in about 4 weeks, without, it can take up to 5 months - just depends how busy they are - the branch website on NZIS should give some idea
