Hi all,

As a response to our recently successful EOI I have been asked for a pre assessment on my quals.

On this forum, a lady told me my exact quals. had been checked out by themselves and returned as level 3 and qualified for the full 60 points?

This obviously gave me confidence when submitting my pre assessment yesterday, the problem is the email I received from NZIS stated that I needed to reach level 4 in order to proceed.

When I checked out level 3 and 4 they both read exactly the same, so who is right?

What is the difference in 3 and 4?

Many thanks

Steve

I think some trades/ jobs need a level 3 to proceed and others level 4.

For instance mine, motor mechanic needs a level 4, mine came back level 3 so my qually doesn't count. Can't claim points for it being in long term skill shortage either.

How come yours came back 3 and not 4, was it that the quals just weren't the right ones?

The problem was with having a "proper" apprenticeship. Although I had to be working in the trade to be able to attend the Tech on day release for 5 years because I had no signed papers from the likes of Leyland they wouldn't accept it. And that was even with my employers paying for the course.

Can't complain how things have turned out though, just got my work visa today. And even if I could have got PR without a job offer, I wouldn't have up sticks and flown out without a job waiting for me to go to. So what seemed a major setback for me at the time wasn't really, it just meant doing things in a slightly different order.

I think the best way to attack this immigration assault course is not to try to have all the questions answered at the start and be willing to have to change course along the journey.
