I saw one of those being fitted out in the UK, it was for a guy who was sick of his parents but couldn't afford to move out :)

Quite a good idea and an ingenious use of space, can't imagine the in laws going for it though :laugh

Wow - have to say that is pretty 'awesome'!!!!

What a good idea for a sleepout when the family come to stay and if they are driving us nuts we can have it shipped back to the uk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great price, good location, would prefer something a little bigger (oooo!! Err!! Missus), how about a 40ft one.

I saw a show about this type of thing. Someone in the US is making emergency shelters out of shipping containers. This may be one of them.

Easy to ship, quick to set up, cheap to own. It's a great idea for the short term if you ask me.

There was a TV programme last year, here in the UK, which was about people building homes in 24 hours. Amongst them was a bloke who worked on a farm and had been sleeping on the farmer's sofa. He had one of these installed on the farm so that the lad had some personal space.

I also saw an architect who had made studios out of a 'block' of containers put together. They were all painted very light colours on the inside and had windows at either end and artists could rent them to use as studios. An excellent idea.

Not sure I would want to live in one though.:roll

I've also seen them attached together and used as a block of flats. As they're very sound structurally, they make really interesting pre-fabricated building materials.

Ohhh they're great Zigloo's! OH has always been keen on building a "different" house and has been talking about these container houses! They actually look quite nice! He's also up for log houses, straw bale houses and the latest, tyre houses (don't ask... :no:no)....
