ITA warning or help to you all.
Finally got a case officer asigned to us and his first email was not so good. We had 125 points now reduced to 75. WHY, because
They will not recognise my job as a Client Manager here as needing management & IT skills. I'd like to see them do it without:laugh
They will not recognise my City & Guild Hairdressing as it was full time college not an aprenticeship. Despite it was more intense. Don't suppose they would like to see my advanced hairdressing certificate and my Teaching certificate I have, as they are not recognised either.
20 points gone so far with both of mine.
they will not agree that my OH IT degree was his Major subject as it says he did Maths in the first (that was the course requirement) and IT in yr 2 & 3. So we cannnot claim points for shortage list.
The will not recognise his job offer as its contracting for 6 months without previous contracts produced. So he is contacting agencies like mad as he does not have any from his previous roles to send.
The paperwork we provided will not be sufficient for 10 years work exp but they have given him 4 years work experience for one reference. He has been in IT for 30 years!!! But without papers we are stuck. He has travelled all over the world and had lost a lot of the papers he needed. Most of his work colleagues have left the old companies. No one is prepared to give references on their new company headed paper, which is what they require.
they will not allow our daughter on the application as she is financially self sufficient in the UK we only put her on they are we were advised (wrongly) waste of medical cost.
So the long and short of it is we have been given the advise now of what is essential to get to 100 points and will keep you posted as to whether that will get us through.
On the upside - least the UK is moving into the backlog at long last. Plus I have a lovely cold wine in my hand, Australian brought via Cyprus from our stock left over.:laugh you have to laugh. My OH has done nothing for this process and keep asking the same questions and I have to say NO that is not what they want. I have job offers and payslip dating back to the 80's, you never know when you might need them!!!Anyone want to adopt him???
