Can anyone advise of a place that will readily accomodate us for approx 24hrs when we get of plane in Auckland. We prob wont clear the airport till about midnight on tues 27th march and as we are heading to waikato (place TBC) we will need somewhere to get our heads down for a bit. Im assuming the airport has many hotels in the area can anyone reccomend??

There are a few bus services in Auckland International that take you directly to different hostels. I'm unsure about hotels.

Though I suppose if you look at the AKL International website, I believe they list a few local recommended hotels.

We stayed at the Jet Inn - 1 km from airport. What was good was that our plane got in at 6.30am, so we turned up at the Inn at 8am and they let us have our adjoining rooms straight away, and we were in them until 10am the next day, no extra charge. They are mid-range price, but I needed a bit of comfort and I didn't want to share a room with the kids, who were a bit hyper. There was a small but nice outside pool with sunloungers which was good for staying awake in, and cheapish room service. The website is - www.jetinn.co.nz Hope this helps.
