Too much aggro on a couple of other Migrant forums (which shall remain nameless) so decided to migrate to ENZ.

Moved from a smallholding in Shropshire (UK) 15 months ago - now settled on 10 ha (25 acres) in Golden Bay which is top left of the South Island.

Murray Grey and Dexter cattle, Suffolk sheep, Black Devon pigs, chooks and a border collie, plus an acre or so of most types of fruit known to man (incl non fruiting (so far) banana palms).

Anyone with queries on this part of NZ or 'lifestyle block' type questions go for it?

Welcome GBPeter,
Having just been to view a house on a quarter of an acre, I cannot begin to imagine 25!! Look forward to reading your posts in future,
Gil

Hi Peter!
Wow, sounds like you made a lot of good decisions:D I know you'll have many opportunities to share on this forum, and offer up advice to those still trying to make it work! (like us:o) Good luck with the bananas; here in "sunny" SoCal all of our banana plants froze a few weeks back!
Welcome to the forum,
Ana

Welcom GBPeter,

That's huge - 25 HA !!
I call that a farm - not a lifestyle block - LOL
Were you a farmer before living in NZ? Golden Bay is beautiful - but too far out from any cities for my lifestyle.

Cheers,
Anita
