Guys,

Anyone been in person to Immigration in Aucklnd CBD ? My RRV ran out yesterday and I have to get a new one to apply for a Chinese Visa in the next 10 days! (Another story! But have to go upto China with work a week on Monday for 10 days!)

My first application was rejected as without a valid RRV they will not issue one - so I now have to go down in the morning and find my passport at an office in town - then go around to the Immigration office and persuade them to do one for me on the spot! I just remember horror stories of long queues at 6am!

Any recent experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks
Neil

My OH took my passport to immigration for an RRV. No hassles and it was back within 3 days, did cost (I think) $40 though :roll

Are you eligible yet for your IRRV ? As it may be worth getting all your families passports together and applying for that as it's $100 for all of you.

Hi - time is the issue, as I have to get my visa application into the Chinese Embassy asap. Cost is not an issue as I can now claim it back on expenses as it is needed for work. Yes we were going for IRRVs, but now just get new RRVs and then wait a year til applying for Citizenship - but that is not a concern at this point.

I'm heading down there first thing anyway, so will see what the queue looks like :)
