Hello great and wise forum friends:D,
I have been going over our "get a Job offer, then WP, then submit EOI" plan, and I had an unpleasant thought; we can't get in the pool w/o the job offer (95 points, argg!) but hubby's NZQA (IT) comes to level 5, enough for 50 points, but not enough to claim bonus points. My question is, will he still get the 50 points for a job offer (outside Auckland) for a job on the shortage list? I want to know if we are going about this the wrong way or if I'm just stressing about nothing. Any advice is much appreciated!!!

so - you will get 50 points for having a "skilled job offer". that doesnt depend on qualifications at all. its purely on the job itself (unless you need the qualifications to legally be allowed to do the job in NZ - eg teachers or nurses etc) you will also get 10 points for it being outside auckland.

you wont get any additional points on top of that for it being in an area of "absolute skills shortage". it sounds like you've got it right though - if yu have 95 points now then a job offer will get you selected
