Dear All Wonderful and Wise

I know this has probably been asked many times before but here goes:

We had EOI selected 31 Jan 07 and have received a letter from NZ to this effect. I know we are now awaiting for a CO to be appointed and just wondered if anyone has any idea how much longer we will have to wait? Do timescales differ greatly? Do they choose the highest points first? ours was 130. Also will I receive an email or a phonecall? What type of questions will they ask? Thank you one and all:roll

If I read your posting correctly, your EOI has be "selected". That's it. You will not be assigned a case officer until a few more things happen.

Your EOI's state becomes "decision successful".

NZ immigration sends you an ITA packet.

You fill out the ITA packet and send it back.

You wait a few weeks or months.

Only then are you assigned a case officer. You don't get a case officer until you have sent back your ITA packet.

Our ITA was signed by our case officer which I thought was the norm. What is at the bottom of your ITA letter ?

your ITA will be signed by one of the NZIS staff - but thats not "your" case officer - they don't get assigned till your ITA is back and you reach the top of the pile (days/a couple of weeks with a job offer, more likely a couple of months without)

how many points you have has no bearing at this stage. they prioritise those with job offers - everyone else goes in the queue.

if all is well the next thing you'll hear will be your EOI status changing from selected to succesful then your ITA arriving.

Thank you everyone. I think I was misled by the letter received which states: "Your EOI bas been forwarded to London. You will be contacted when an officer has been assigned to your case". I will just wait patiently along with everyone else.

Although I'm in no doubt this is true for the London branch, I'd just like to say that my own experience, going through the Auckland branch, has been completely different. When I received my ITA (about a week after being selected from the pool, without job offer) it was from my case office who'd already been assigned.

Cheers, Bob
