Aaaaaaaaargh! In a panic now, I need to send my ITA off in the next couple of days. I have everything except my medical certificates, which I was told would arrive at the end of last week. I mailed the medical practice this morning as to the ETA of my certificates, and after 4 hours received an email saying I would have to check with the High Commission as they had been sent the stuff on Friday. Unless I'm very wrong, the certificates should have come back to me. Nothing arrived Saturday or today (someone's been in all the time). No-one at the medical practice is answering my phone calls or emails. I've a horrible feeling my medical certificates have been sent to the wrong place and I'm not going to be able to send the stuff in.
Anybody got any ideas, or should I just jump off the nearest cliff?

Dear Clare,
Dont panic. Although we were sent our medicals they did offer to send them off to the HC and they took 15 days to arrive.
If they arrive in the post and you open them, or even the tatty envelope thay arrive in they would have been null and void. Try calling the HC we found them very helpful.

We opened OH's medical forms to check they had been signed and initial and then put them in a fresh envelope which the staff member at NZHouse who checked the application in front of me had no problem with.
If I was you, I'd send the full application plus a print out of the email from the medical centre saying they sent the medical docs to the High Commission directly. It would only be time to panic if the High Commission never receives them - but at least they'd have evidence that you weren't at fault for them going missing in the post.

Hi Clare,
try not to panic, I'm sure if you submit the ITA and advise them that the medicals have been done and you are still waiting for them this will be fine.
hopefully in the meantime, you will get a reply from the medical centre and perhaps they can duplicate the information, or something.
Good luck

Hi Everyone!
Thanks for the advice, and reassurance. Finally got a phone call this morning from the medical practice, the medical docs were sent out to me after all (aha!) I'm going to send the rest of the stuff today, and the medical paperwork when it turns up. Phew!!

Glad you didn't jump off the nearest cliff! If everybody did that when the post office made a mistake, all of our valleys and canyons would be full!:roll
