Not wanting to blow my own trumpet, but after being in NZ for 7 months on a work permit we have finally been granted PR. Something of an anti-climax after being here for so long, but it is quite a relief as I don't know what I would do if I was told I had to give up my new life here.

I'd like to say a big thanks to all the forum contributers. I have had to ask very few questions as most can be answered with a search, so thanks to all those who have added their bit.

Our case is similar to yours. We have been here 16 months on a WV- me principal applicant- and as it ran out on the 14th (no we are not overstayers) the wife was granted a WTR visa as her company decided to push her down the accredited route, but it has been held up as we require another couple of Police checks from the UK- ain't been back for 16 months so what has changed from the last set. Anyway they have granted us temp visa's whilst those checks are carried out. Once they have received them we get brand new blue'ies in our passport. As you say it is a sort of anti-climax. When we got the nod regarding WTR, i just said calmly "oh good" :laugh
