I haven't been able to gain a clear understanding of whether vaccines/innoculations are MANDATORY for children in NZ??

Here in the US, requirements vary state-by-state. In some states, all available paediatric innoculations are mandatory and, in others, parents have the right to make that medical decision for their children (to selectively or fully innoculate or not innoculate at all).

Are there requirements in NZ? If so, what are they? Are they mandatory only for children attending schools? In our state, they are not mandatory to attend public schools but private schools can set their own requirements.

There are no laws here to MAKE you vaccinate your child.

I have come across a couple of parents that have not done any vaccinations; you do get a fair bit of pressure from the doctors/nurses/health visitors, but at the end of the day, its your decision, and if you are happy with it and understand the implications then they have to respect that.
