Hi: I'm going to be sending our five passports along with the original copy of the job offer to NZ Immigration London. Because time is short, I'd like to include a prepaid envelope (Fed-Ex, UPS, or DHL) so they can return the passports ASAP.

NOTE: I have not yet received PR; ITA is being allocated to an officer on Monday for evaluation. They already have certified copies of the passports for that purpose. However, I understand they will need the original passports and job offer for the Visa Officer's consideration (presumably to put the visas in the passports?)

I want to get a jump on them and have the passports on site so that if we are approved, the passports can be immediately 'stamped' (or stickered) and returned. Is it typical to send a prepaid envelope--has anyone done it successfully?

Thanks!

Yes, I included a prepaid UPS Overnight envelope with my application and passport. It was nice having my own tracking number and i set up my UPS to email me as soon as the return envelope was scanned in so I knew it would be on its way back.

Note: I'd wait until you get the approval and pay the migrant levy. In my case, they used the UPS envelope to return my birth cert and other original docs whilst holding onto my passport while processing application.

Good luck :)

Thanks for that. So then, how did they return your passports? Snail-mail?

I signed a form with financial information for the migrant levy so they can pull that from my account as soon as I'm approved.

I wonder if I could state in the cover letter that the only documents I need returned to me are my passports as all the other ones are either certified copies or originals I don't really need. That is, I know I could state it...would they catch it!
