Hi Everyone

My wife and I are in the process of reappraising our finances and we want to set some new goals to move us on our way to NZ. With that in mind, I'm wondering how much money other people brought over in their savings accounts? Also, I've read that for PR, you have to have at least 2 months savings before you are granted. The reasoning I read was that you should be able to support yourself for two months without a job. How much is NZIS looking for? How is that determined?

Hi John,
I know this is something others have asked, and quite recently too. Thing is, most of us are not too keen to publish personal financial infornation like this on the web, so I have suggested before that the questioner sets up a poll with bandings which can then be completed anonymously......over to you! ;)

Not at all John. Start a new thread and scroll down the page, it gives you the option to start one and it's dead easy! (So easy that even I have been known to do it!!)

Not sure if the rules have changed since I got PR in October '06, but I wasn't asked for evidence of financial status or assets at any point in the process. I was expecting the CO to ask during the interview but the subject never came up.
