Thought I'd do a quick post, as I know animals and Golden arrow are always popular topics on this forum.....
Anyway just to let you know that all my worrying was for nothing and Olive arrived safely on her Air NZ flight from Auckland this morning.
She was a little bit on the thin side (having refused to eat at Golden Arrow to show her displeasure with being in a cage), but arrived looking fresh and very clean, which I wasn't expecting. Hats off to Golden Arrow, as she had a sturdy wooden cage, with her name, our surname and her destination spray painted on the side, so no danger of any labels getting lost, and all her paperwork taped very securely to the top of her crate. I know they've already got lots of people singing their praises, but I have to add to it - they were great, and didn't mind us phoning on a sunday or even my mum calling to check on her while she was with them.
Anyway the moment they brought her cage into the cargo centre here in Christchurch and I called her name, she started miaowing like mad as she was so pleased to see us - much to the shock of the Air NZ man, as she hadn't said a word since he collected her from the plane, so they were somewhat surprised. Anyway her plane landed at 09:50 and they handed her to us by 10:15, so pretty quick as GA had all her paperwork in perfect order!
Quick 20 min ride to where we are staying and she seems to have settled in pretty quickly, and eating was resumed within 5 mins of arriving!, and she certainly seems no worse for her travels, just a little bemused.
Judging by the number of cats and dogs that were NZ bound when I dropped her off at GA, no doubt quite a few of you are also waiting anxiously for your pets to arrive, so just wanted to give you some reassurance!
Hope thats helpful to some of you...
