Anyone have any info or experience of Taumarunui? Can't find much on the internet, any info welcome!

Thanks, Veronica. I've already viewed most of the website the search engines come up with :roll: There doesn't seem to be a town website, or any website that tells you much about the town. :(

So, if any of you have visited or lived in Taumarunui, fill me in! :nice1

this reply is a little bit late, but we passed through taumaranui only a week or so ago. stopped off at the four square to pick up some L&P and grain waves on our way back to auckland from turangi.

it's a small town with a very rural feel - the surrounding area has some beautiful rolling hills and you're not far from lake taupo and the trout fishing at the tongariro river. also just "up the road" is the tongariro national park and mt ruapehu etc. as the website you found says - it's in the "middle of everywhere"! not a lot about the town to really recommend it as a place to visit or live, but certainly a good location.

Still sounding pretty good to me, given that it would be good to be fairly central in the NI, and we want to be very rural. Here's hoping the property I spotted is still available when we get over there and we can check the area out ourselves! :hopeso
