I think I am correct in recalling info about the ITA requiring A4 format of birth certificates. Is this correct? My OH is the only one with small copy. Help please with verification on this matter and also where would I apply for A4 version?

You can phone the local registry office where you were born and they send it to you for about £10.

Its not the size that is important (as in A4) its the information it has on it - it has to be a full birth certificate. Thats the one that shows all the details, such as mother andfathers occupations etc.
Hope that helps.

Belmont Babes,
I went into local registry office and they gave me form and address of the office local to where I was born. The cost was £7 for a full birth certificate and it arrived within a week

Just want to second this. My application is now on hold, because they require all this information (and my birthcertificate doesn't provide it all) My government doesn't even provide birth certificates with all that information, so it'll be interesting to see what happens next. I ordered one that at least tells them who my parents are though :-)
