Hi there

We are from SA and we are not sure if we are going to make the April/May interviews in time (our ITA got lodged on 23 Feb) but my hubby is planning a 3 week trip to NZ in May.

Does anyone know if its possible to have the settlement interview in New Zealand instead of in SA or London? Has anyone actually done this?

Thanks,
Lids

Ours was a phone interview. Are you sure they want to do an in-person interview for you?

Im not sure but they usually do the settlement interview for applicants without a job offer. But looks like hubby is going in April now so we might still make the interviews if they come over to SA slightly later.

Oh - spoke to someone at the London branch and they say we cannot have the interview in NZ because it is being dealt with by a London branch.

We didn't have a job offer either. I've noticed that the London branch seems to mostly do phone interviews, but I've heard of a couple of Americans having to go to Washington DC to be interviewed in person. Otherwise mostly it's over the phone for people, good luck!

Thanks Tigerlilly, but in SA there are 2 interview periods, roughly 6 months apart, where the VO's come down from London to interview the South Africans applying for PR.

I have come across 2 people who somehow managed to have their interviews done in Auckland so I am trying to get hold of them at the moment. It would really set our minds at ease!
