Hi folks,

I'll be heading over to Auckland for a week in April. I'm planning to hire a rental car so I can look around a bit, particularly at potential areas to live when we finally move out. Are there any good (cheap) rental firms out there? Preferably one which I can pick up from the airport.

I've had a quote from HolidayAutos.com of £108 (roughly $300) for a week for an Astra. Does this sound reasonable or could I get a better deal locally?

Cheers,

Martin

We used EZYrental whilst in Auckland and Christchurch they were great and very reasonable compared to other rental firms.

We used James Blonde (www.totaltravel.co.nz/travel/new-zealand/auckland/auckland/transport/buyacar/james-blond-limited) in Auckland, VERY cheap and friendly! They have a pick up service, as well.

We used Auto Rentals Direct, Wendy Witheridge is the owner, approx $220 per week for an oldish Nissan saloon. Her email is nprental@ihug.co.nz and phone 09 537 0991.
Have fun!
