Hi there
we are currently gathering a list of IT agencies in Wellington. Hubby is a Software Developer and we will be in Wellington at the end of May (from UK) so want to get a job as quick as possible - so we are going to send his CV off to as many as possible in the hope we can get some interviews lined up as soon as we get there.....

Anyone got any good reccomendations ?

You'll find some discussions on this forum that name names - search for 'recruiter'.

There's also a generous list at http://wellies.org.nz/ (click on left), which is a superb resource in other ways too. Good place to start, imo.

I will add that the match of recruiter and candidate depends quite a bit on the particular skill set the candidate has. Programmer - embedded vs. DSL vs. C# vs. concurrent - not all will be represented equally well by all agencies.

Good idea trying to suss out all the recruiters you can as soon as possible. My wife and I have recently returned from living in the UK and have based ourselves in Wellington. I've picked up work at IT firm Fronde (http://www.fronde.com). It's a great place to work, really focussed on staff development and new technologies, and we're always looking for new starters. There is an incentive program for finding new staff, so if your husband likes the look of what we do, let me know :). It's a win-win as I can make sure his CV gets to the right people (I actually sit in the office right next to HR!).

If you are considering Auckland, we have offices there too.
