Hey all, I wanted to share that our FBI checks came today; it only took 2 weeks! I sent our fingerprints by FedEx, with a note on the outside asking to expedite for immigration purposes and the date I wanted them back by (march 25th) I included a self-addressed prepaid UPS envelope (UPS was cheaper than FedEx on the way back) Hope that helps any US residents who are in the same boat.:nice1
Now for a question...what your FBI check look like? Ours is just our fingerprint cards with notes stapled to them that say "please note stamp on back of fingerprint card" and the stamp says "no arrest record". Is that it?!? It doesn't seem very official. Any feedback from those who have received FBI reports would be helpful!

Did you want it to have something more interesting?? I was happy not to have a record! Just kidding, nope, that was it. Great job that it got back so fast though!

Well, that makes me feel better! I guess I was imagining an official document- sized file with info like a credit check and a big important-looking seal of some kind:roll Oh well, at least they didn't waste paper!:nice1

My wife sent in her request for FBI check before we left the U.S., almost 4 months ago, we even used a relatives address in the U.S. to have it returned to and were still waiting, she has no record so she should get the same thing you got, I know the processing is done in WV but I can't find any phone number to call and check the status of it, if we don't get it soon we may just request it again and use Fedex, she only has just over 8 months left on her WHV and we heard that her PR through the partnership catagory could take as long as 12 months, not having that darn FBI check is preventing us from even starting the PR process so were starting to sweat a bit.

I had a similar thing happen. My fingerprints were "lost" among the thousands they get, and I happened to have a number to call (have since lost that, sorry). They told me to use FEDEX or some such with a tracking number on it, and to put a self-addressed and pre-paid FEDEX envelope inside, too. That way, I could track it online myself to make sure they received it, and if I needed to call to check on it, they could use that tracking number to pull it up in their computer and locate which bin it was stored in and find it for me, etc. (Otherwise, the ones they get in plain envelopes are basically lost among the others until they come to it).
With this method, I could keep track of when they mailed my fingerprints back (I had written down the enclosed tracking number) and it took three weeks. I just kept checking that tracking number every 3-4 days and didn't have to call and bug them (not a good idea).
I still have not received the one I mailed in a plain envelope back in January! They are swamped due to the new passport rules that went into effect in January.
