Hi all,

I've been reading threads for a while and thought it was about time I said hello! Myself, my partner and 6 yo daughter are hoping to emigrate sometime in the near future. We are lucky as we have alot of friends over in NZ who have all offered to help out with jobs etc so fingers crossed.

The existing threads on here have helped us loads and given us a truely realistic view of life in New Zealand so thank you all!!

I'm sure I will still have loads of questions in the coming months so look forward to chatting with you all

Sara

Hi Sara
Welcome Welcome :)
We are also relatively new to forum but have received ITA today. As you say I still can't believe what a wealth of information the site is and how helpful all the members are.:yes

Thank you all! We are hoping to settle in or around Invercargill (no, I really mean it), been there twice and have fallen in love with it plus its where most of our support network are based.
One question if anyone can help....we were going to wait for full confirmation of our job offers before applying for residency but could we apply with jobs in the pipeline? Not really sure what to do for the best.

....We have set ourselves a target of 12 months  but whatever happens hope it will be before the housing market in the uk drops so we can sell our house and get a bit of money behind us!

Welcome to our World Sara. As you mention regarding having friends already on the ground here, well that can mean a great deal. Having that network in place is important. We have one and we have used it on a few occasions, its invaluable.

Good luck with it all, and you need an answer to something then shhot the question. We are here to help.

The short answer to your question is yes, but I believe that NZIS want to see a copy of your contract of employment before granting visas.

Someone more qualified to answer your question than I will be along soon, I'm sure.

Good luck.
