Hi all,

Well time flies by. It has been a little while since I posted so thought I would update you.

Our completed ITA has been with NZ House in London for nearly two weeks so early days I know.

My Job in NZ starts in June so subject to the Immigration process running smoothly Denise and I still hope to move out sometime during w/c 21/5.
We Can't book flights yet or ship belongings until we get our Visas.

We think we will opt for the Air New Zealand option via LA as this gives us loads more luggage allowance, 60+ kgs each I am informed?

We have recently learnt that I will be working in Henderson so subject to finding the right place we still hope to live in one of the suburbs in the North Shore. We bought the 'Where to live in Auckland' book following advise on the forum which has assisted greatly in narrowing down our options.

We have opened up our NZ bank accounts and obtained our IRD numbers an easy thing to do for those who haven't yet.

Any advice on reliable second hand car dealers (mmm) in the Auckland North Shore area would be appreciated??

Any advice on health Insurance too would be appreciated??? We have obtained a quote thru Southern Cross but I don't know if this is competetive.

Regards Russ :)

Hi Russ

Just wanted to say hello. We're flying out to NZ (Air NZ via HK) in the same week as you. You, however, sound extremely organised (bank a/cs, IRD no.s etc) in a way that we are just not - yikes! But well done to you.

Don't know anything about health insurance but I think there was a post some days ago on the same subject.

Good luck with all your plans,

Andrea Matt and co. (Welly-bound)

its actually 46kgs each luggage allowance (unless you are flying business of course). still lots more than via HK - all depends on how happy you are to be flying via the US of course.

good luck with it all

Thanks guys for the info. We will undoubtedly go with Air NZ and take the LA route I think to secure the extra baggage allowance. We certainly can't afford business class.

Agree with Andrea and Matt, you seem far too organised with the bank accounts and IRD numbers,

good luck, hope all goes smooth with the move.
