Hi there, my name is stacey and my OH is Jason, we have a 3 year old and a 2 year old and would love to make some friends, especially me as I am at home all day with the kids! We are renting in Sumner at the moment.

We just had a meet up in Sumner and you would have been very welcome. My family love Sumner and would love to meet up sometime, plus I'm sure we will be organising another event soon. In the meantime, their are plenty of forumites around your area and I'm sure they will be in touch.

Been in chch for 18th months now and loving it came over from UK with my hubby "D" and my kids 13, 10 & 8. Ive met a few people on forums like this and they have all been lovely people, Im here if anyone needs any advice or would like to meet up for a coffee sometime, I love walking and im on Sumner beach at least once a week.

You can check out current meets in the Meet/Get Togethers part of the forum (its in Emigrate NZ Community). The current Christchurch one is:

And you can look through the Meet/Get Togethers section to find out what's gone on in the past. I live in Auckland and something tends to come up about once every 6 weeks.

Alternatively you could start your own thread suggesting a meet! :D

From what I hear, missing the folks back home is one of the biggest things that everyone finds hard about moving to NZ. The family and I will be doing the same at the end of August, so we're already keen to get in contact with a few people!

We currently live in Stirling (in Scotland), and we're moving to Christchurch at the end of August. When I say 'the family' - this consists of me, my partner, and our (almost) 3yr old daughter Adhara. We'd love to meet up sometime after we arrive, to have a chat and so on. In the meantime, do get in touch, as we'll fell a lot better if we're already in contact with another family in Christchurch before we get there!
