Just wondering if Active Manuka honey is expensive in NZ?
I know the good stuff (with a UMF rating) is terribly expensive in UK .
In theory it should be cheaper over there as there will be no shipping costs.
anyone???

You can buy it in most supermarkets, but to get a decent UMF you need to go to a health food store - the supermarket varieties are generally low.
But Zardell is right, Manuka honey is cheap as over here - I paid about $15 for a kilo from a honey place on the north shore. It's lovely stuff!

Manuka honey is available most places.
If you're looking for active manuka honey then the best place to get it is from the Comvita visitors centre in Te Puke (on the road between Tauranga and Rotorua). They have some exhibits and tours too which we found quite interesting.
They sell it in bulk if you want - bring your own bucket!
If you're heading to Te Puke, it's worth popping in to Kiwi360 to learn all about the furry little fruit. They also have a cafe which I can recommend.
