I read on another forum that someone was concerned that the containers would get so hot that batteries could explode. They wanted to know if this was a concern, They were most concerned about the batteries in a UPS.

Has anyone here heard of this happening? Should I by worried about mine? What about Rechargeable NIMH batteries?

Thanks
PJ

Do a search this has been discussed on several old threads.

But we brought small normal batteries in our container, no problems, oh yeah and a huge stash of chocolate bars which all arrived unmelted in yummy condition!! :laugh

Where the container is being shipped? What route it takes? I've seen containers where the car's interior have turned all moldy and thick due to the vast amount of sweating. The longer the container is in transit in sea, the worse it gets, especially when it travels to places in Asia and around the Equator where the sun can really cook these containers.

MAF doesn't like to see mold inside containers, they'll instantly order the Methyl Bromide treatment in the bonded area at YOUR COST. Then you'll have to pay another $150 MAF fee for their 2nd visit.

As i've mentioned in another thread, not all containers are built the same. The worse ones are the containers that sweat easily. The older ones have poor ventilation and if they are sent on a long journey, they'll sometimes get put at the bottom of the stack where more sweating can occur.

Just check but if they leak or cause a fire your insurance may be invalid
