We have been planning to apply for PR through skilled migrant route as we have more than enough points with OH job offer. Documentation has now come through from company mentioning work for residence under acredited talennt employer scheme. This seem to look more complicated for the whole family than EOI etc route. Which is best ? I intend to work once we are settled. Advice please.

I think over time, there is possibly more paperwork and expense in the WTR route than in straightforward PR. I think it is most beneficial if you want to get out here really quickly, as it's processed v quickly, but then you have more stuff to do once you get here. PR is a little more time consuming at first, but at least it's all done with once you get here, and you don't have to have any more medicals etc to get residency. If you have a job offer, PR route can be quite quick anyway.

We were planning on putting EOI in for next selection 170 points. We are collecting things for ITA. Will need medicals/full qualification assessment as soon as week get back after Easter. How long is it likely to take once ITA is in ? OH employer expects him in September. Of course theres the other little matter of selling the house but thats another story.

Well it took 3 weeks after I put my ITA in, but I was v careful to make sure they had all the documents.

easter - september is likely longer than it would take even if you didn't have a job offer!!!
selling your house is another matter entirely.
we put our ITA in at the start of april 06 (no job offer) and had PR by the end of may 06. we immediately put our house on the market and managed to compete the house sale by december 06. hmmmmm.

I can't find anything on the website, but I seem to remember someone saying on the forum that there was a singificant difference in elgibility for health care and schooling between PR and other work permits. You may also find it more difficult getting banking services. Something to check out!
If you have a job offer they do prioritise your PR application.
