Do you get the MotoGP on TV in NZ? I've seen a few people discussing things like formula 1 but do you get any bike racing at all on the TV? Please say you do

Yes,fortunately we do now get bike racing. You obviously have to get the SKY sport package though. We get live coverage of. moto gp and superbikes and the NZ Roadracing championship and lots of motocross,I think I would go crazy without sky sport.

As Pieeater says you need the Sky sports package to get any decent sport to watch. I just persuaded the OH that we had to have the sports just so I could see the MotoGP and WSB. My sister in the UK keeps me updated with BSB results. I miss the yearly trips to Donington and Brands though there was talk last year of them possibly having a round of MotoGP in New Zealand at Taupo, that would be awesome.

There is quite a bit of racing here in NZ, they love Motocross plus there's a bit of road racing and sometimes bike stuff at the Manfeild track (yes it is spelt like that).

You'll get your fix somehow.

Cheers guys,

Think I would have gone slowly mad if I couldn't watch any racing. I think I'm going to miss the yearly trips to Brands and Donnington as well, it is the one thing I know I'll not be able to recreate when I move.

Just to let you know, there was a piece in MCN (I think) that stated NZ was one of several countries looking to get a MotoGP round. It looks like its not going to happen until at least 2009 as they don't want any more than 18 races in a year and all of the other tracks have contracts until at least then. The big however is that they do want a second round in America at Indionapolis (sorry if spelt wrong), whihc looks like its going to happen. Looks like its going to be a long time in coming.
