Just speaking to friends in NZ and they have admitted to this, having tried to deny the earthquake in Auckland last month.
She said that she was just trying to keep things secret so we don't decide not to go, as is.

OH was a little disappointed that she wasn't on scene when it happened. She is turning into a volcano chaser. She literally went all gooey when she saw White Island smoking the other week on a visit to Zardell.

Looked absolutely awesome on the news :laugh oops, there is that word!
No, it did look fantastic, and all for the cost of one damaged footbridge and one relocated toilet block.

We never have anything like that happen around these parts. I have a degree in geology and the opportunity to see some of this stuff in action is very attractive.

It looks amazing and it does make you think. Sam applied for a job at Mt Ruahepu Ski Slope only last week. :exit

We were on Ruapehu at the time (over the other side doing some walking round Whakapapa) and we didn't even know it'd happened till we got back to the hotel and saw the news :D
We went back via the desert road and saw the path the lahar took down the mountain - looks cool!
