We sold our car on Friday to a company called www.wewantyourcar.com. OH found it while trying to figure out what to do with our car when we go. On their website you fill in details about the condition of the car, i.e. whether there are any dents or scratches and/or marks on the interior - (there is a diagram you can click on) and they come up with a price. If you are happy with it you submit the form together with your contact details and they ring you back (within 24 hours).

Next they arrange for a driver to come and give your car the once over and if everything is in order they will make payment for the car there and then. We chose Telegraphic Transfer direct into our bank account but you can also have them bring a Banker's draft. The driver then drives away with the car. Alternatively you can drop the car off at their place (Huddersfield) if it's more convenient.

They may alter the price if the driver finds something you haven't mentioned -in our case they knocked £100 off because of a scuffed alloy wheel and apaint chips on the tailgate). Well worth it as in our opinion we got slightly more than we thought we would get for it, even if we'd sold privately.

All in all very impressed with the service and price. The obvious advantage to this is that it saves an awful lot of hassle with garages etc.

One other thing to mention is that the price is only valid for a week, any longer and you have to resubmit the details and get a new quote.

It might be worth looking up the list price of your car prior to getting a quote from them. What car have a valuation area, link below.
