maybe this is silly, but I'm wondering....does everything that goes in the container have to go in a box or be wrapped / covered, such as couches, mattresses, chairs?

Do pieces of furniture with legs (tables, chairs) have to be disassembled?

What lengths did you go to wrap/cushion glassware and other breakables?

thanks,
Christine

if you have a company they will pack and wrap literally everything for you. take furniture apart and protect glassware with mounds of paper. if you are doing it yourself you would no doubt be wise to do the same but i imagine its a lot of work....

We like most people had a removals company come and do the lot for us. we did a lot of preparation beforehand, dejunking and packing stuff into drawers oursleves to maximise the space.

They do flat pack some items, as they can rattle loose and collapse on the way, but others they use as a 'container' and fill with light soft stuff.

They do wrap and label everything, even going as far s putting a roll of tape around my washing basket to prove they have packed it!

There was nothing my removal men didn't cover .. it either got wrapped or put in a box/crate... just like the picture above.

I did self pack ..........which meant I packed everything that went into a box.

They gave me boxes and paper weeks beforehand and I leisurely sorted and packed toys ,books ,CD's,kitchen stuff, clothes, photos etc.

On the 2 days that I had the removal men ,they wrapped pictures ,mirrors ,furniture ,Ironing board ,the White ware and Crated the Piano .Nothing went in unless it was wrapped.

I liked this option as I was able to sort as I went along .

Best wishes,
