I've just read that if taking medicines into NZ we need to have something (presumably from the GP) confirming what they are for. Does anyone know if this extends to an asthma inhaler and Thyroxine tablets, since it is pretty obvious what these are for! Would a repeat subscription notice be sufficient for this? I haven't left enough time to be able to get my GP to do me a letter in time for our departure on Saturday!

Are you bringing them with you, or for the shipping container?
We brought my OH's 3 month supply of inhalers (he has 3 types each day!)with us in the suitcase. Was never asked about it so no problems.
If you are sending medication in the container it has to go ont he customs form you complete.

As you are coming for reccie, don't worry about letter etc, it is fine!
You only need it for shipping container as custom are funny:roll

I just went to the doctors here and told them the 2 medications I was on - with no proof at all - and she put me straight back on a repeat prescription, no worries. They aren't very exciting medications, so I'd have no reason to lie really I suppose.
