Hi guys,

I arrived in NZ 21st January from Belfast:raebanana and began teaching in Papakura. I am living in the very gorgeous Bucklands Beach. I am 27 and looking for new friends to hang out with, to explore the country and all it has to offer. A fun team sport would be awesome too! I'm up for pretty much anything (!) but would particularily like to kick start my exploration of the music scene and sample all the activities out there!

drop me a line if you would like to get together for a drink

Cheers
Stacey

Hi Stacey
Welcome to the forum. I will be interested to see how your exploration into the music scene goes. I am a big music lover and regularly go to concerts in the uk. I am sure it is one thing I am going to miss when I get to New Zealand as I can't imagaine there being much of a music scene out there. Please let me know how you get on. What music do you like by the way?
Julie

There's a great music scene over here - depending on what sort of music you like obviously...
I have got into quite a few Kiwi bands - Opshop, Pluto, The Mint Chicks
I go to a gig almost every week, and sometimes more if I want to go and see smaller bands playing in pub venues (which are usually really good).

Stacey - I've never been to Bucklands Beach in my 4+ years in Auckland! I'm strictly a city girl and live near the centre so I can go out frequently. If you want to come along there is a meet of people from this forum this Friday night in Newmarket at Wagamamas - I'm planning on going out afterwards and you'd be more than welcome to come and join me.
