Hi, well I have been visiting this site for some time now, and picked up lots of great advice and tips so thankyou. We are really really chuffed as we got the go ahead today to be granted out PR again!! We applied back in 2005 and got out PR, and I was involved in a serious car accident 3 days later, and was unfit to get to NZ within the year, and so we lost visa...however, with lots of letters/contact/evidence and waiting....we have had them re-issued! yippee...so we are coming this year...can't wait but very scared and need some friends!!! Nothing like being desperate!!

Hi there J & G, congratulations on your 2nd PR!! :clap :clap
Whereabouts in NZ are you headed and when? We hope to make the move ourselves at the beginning of May. We have our Case Officer but we are waiting on one final piece of information from my husband's work - they have sent it three times but they keep sending an electronic copy and we need the original. Argghhh. Fingers crossed it should be with us tomorrow at the latest.

Hi, thanks for reply...it all depends on when we sell the house, we are right in the middle of renovating a house!! So, from this weekend my husband is going to be working on the house all hours, so we can put it up for sale ASAP. We are looking at the Bay of Plenty area, however plan to travel around when we get there until we find somewhere we feel we can settle...for now ill just have to settle for a celebratory chinese and beer!! whereabouts are you going 'pinkpiggy'?

We've got nothing set in stone yet but probably Wellington. It depends whether OH can secure a job offer before we go.
Whereabouts in Holland are you? I used to live in Wormerveer and then Wieringerwerf up in Noord Holland, a long long time ago.

And is anyone invitied to this North West meet?
The more the merrier. Directions are given earlier in this thread and we usually sit in the conservatory to the left as you walk through the main doors. It's very easy to find.

There was an original group that started meeting a couple of years ago and the last of the originals, steve and jan left us a couple of weeks ago.
I have only been to one meet, which was steve and jan's last one in February. Most of the group there were fairly new but very easy to talk to and get to know, even for someone as shy and retiring as me.
One of the thoughts at the last meeting was that we needed to keep the meet going as it is invaluable meeting people going through the same emotions / fears / hopes as you and also similar processes.
Hopefully the meet will keep going long after me have departed this land for that far away place we have dreamed of for so long
