We found out today after chasing up immigration that we have been appointed a case officer what we didn't know was thart he was apoointed in February but no one bothered to tell us:mad: His name is AAron Smith does anyone know of him if so how good is he :roll we were asked for more info on our B/P readings by the medical assessors who I doubt very much have any medical knowledge and we are apparently in their hands. more & more delaying tactics spring to mind.:wah

hi patricia - i know the whole immigration process can be frustratingly slow but i'm sure NZIS has no reason to specifically try and delay you? medical assessors are just trying to do their job and are fully trained doctors - they are consultants though rather then being employed by NZIS which is why it can take a while for applications referred to them to get done.
i hope it doesn't take too long for you and you are over in NZ asap.

We didn't find out we had a case officer until he had already looked over everything and called to schedule our phone interview. I think they're so swamped that no news is often good news -- the only time NZIS ever initiated contact with us (besides the necessary call to schedule the interview) was because of a problem. In fact we didn't even get notified after the interview that we were accepted. We figured out we had PR when our passports arrived with blue stickers.
Hope you are sorted soon.

We're also in the "no news is good news" boat - we handed our partnership application in NZ House 3 days before someone else who said on here that they'd had contact from their case officer to chase up a medical problem. We figure that not hearing from them yet means everything is going smoothly.
Bit of a shame, because I was going to use the "got case officer" as the stage to do some serious job poking.
But I wouldn't take their lack of contact as any reflection on the quality of your application. Chin up!

Hi Patricia.
I know it can get frustrating when you haven't heard from NZIS, because you feel that your whole life is on hold, but believe me when I say that I don't believe that they have put your file on the 'back burner' so to speak.
No news is good news.
They too have to wait for and work with the sytem and it's probably just as frustrating for them.
Mind you, I'm saying all this in hindsight......at the time we were waiting for our PR I was so anxious that the waiting was getting unbearable - and so was I !!
Good luck,
Julie
