Hi guys,
Well I am recovering from a hectic weekend - but a great one at that!
I went on my first Cavalcade (LONG TREKS) it was from Friday night to Sunday afternoon at Kaka Point in the Catlins - and Now I am Hooked!
it was the last of the year - but the next season starts on Labour weekend - an excellent excuse for a 3 day birthday trip!:raeb
I shared a lift in a horse float with a woman who used to live in Oxford - and she has now moved home to Bluff.

we road over the hills from Kaka Point to Surat Beach, had a picnic and then back over the hills and bush, we rode from 8am to 6pm - some of the Hills were so steep - I mean scary steep, sheer drops at the side of you!
We walked leading the horses down slopes - but rode up them thank goodness - otherwise I would still be trying to climb the first hill:laugh

we saw great views - wildlife and boy I would LOVE to move there! but there was NO cell coverage except up at the very top (everyones texts came in when we were at the top...Beep beep - every 2 secs!)
the next day we rode to the Nugget lighthouse... but I forgot my camera:p
it was also my first time in a tent - glad Robs coming next time - I may get some sleep on the next one - HA HA! Rob says that He is coming next time as I had too much fun and he wants in now - so He has claimed Jester as his own - I need to find another horse to ride now - Jasmine is too excitable for climbing sheer cliffs - I haven't got a death wish!!

we had meals and entertainment at night (I won a raffle prize:nice1 )
it was BYO drinks - the men disapeared to the pub for the rugby and came back later for the dancing (I need to learn Rock and roll dancing!)
It was a good way of meeting people too, the lift I came with went home on the sunday as she hurt her back - but I didnt need to cut short the trek - NO the other riders sorted out a lift for me and Jester - and we made more friends - and met a Horse whisperer - who has been here today and sorted out both horses backs and he recons that they will both be happier when ridden now - and Jasmine should stop rearing (she was in pain) Bless her!
well Just had a text from Jason saying he wants a lift home - Bye for now
I am going to put more Pics up on my blog when I get the chance
