Hi all. Have a question regarding paying or not paying duty, OH will be applying for a WP the minute we arrive in NZ. From then we'll be doing the EOI for PR. Will we have to pay duty on our stuff as our status is (I suppose)tenuous?
Moving to outside Welly & things are still heading to end of April begin May arrival. YAAAA!!!!!!

Will you be there before your stuff? If you can get a work permit that's valid for longer than 12 months, and have it when your shipment arrives, I think you're OK, as you don't need to declare your status until that time. Otherwise you may have to pay a bond. I don't know any more about the bond I'm afraid, but hopefully it won't apply anyway :)

Thanks for such a quick reply! We should be there before the container arrives & therefore in pocession of the WP. So it should be alright then?
