Hello all! I had been reading this forum for a long time (I mean, since January) and now I think is time to be more active and participate, that's because the idea to move to NZ is became more consistent .

for introductions purposes: I'm 47 yo, Brazilian like I already said, Civil Engineer . Married with Janete.

That move will be a "atomic blast" in ours lives, so I'm very glad to have such a nice group of people to talk to.

For all, we tanks for the warm welcome. I will enjoy knowing all of you better as the times goes by.

Kim, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but quite the opposite. I'm very bad at futebol / football (and samba as well, I don't know what I'm doing here). By the way, what "specsavers" does it means?

There are, of course, many things to ask about, I will post them in the proper places.

Now it's almost time to go to bed here in this hot Sunday night, and you people in NZ are about to go to lunch, by Monday.

Have you all a productive week.

You'll do well down here as all players are bad at footie. Should fit in well. You only have to look at the NZ team being done by Venezuela. As for Specsavers? Mr D is answering this one right now.

Luiz, welcome to the forum!!

I feel some responsibilty for the "Specsavers" comments on Kim39's thread as I hacked into his account one drunken evening in his house in England. Slipped the specsavers comment on without him knowing.
Specsavers is a large spectacles retailer and there is an advert in UK saying "I should have gone to Specsavers...." As Kim had recently ran over a pair of his spectacles on his driveway it was most apt to put that comment on..... I hope you can understand this Luiz!! It was very funny at the time :)

I got it Stevie, and thanks for your patience in explaining me our "private joke". That it's a good example of my first problem here. As a non native English speaker I'm realizing that I have to go much more away with my language skills (I never had used "spectacles", but "glasses", to say the least).

Plus, in south American we are more exposed to the American English rather than the Britain English (or "English English").

Anyway, nobody said that would be easy.
