So, we are getting ready for our reccy, and we got our police checks and medicals done in the hopes of a job offer while there, so we can hand over the info and apply for work permits then and there...what I never thought about til now is, what do we do with our medicals? We have 2 nice bundles of paperwork, complete with pictures and signatures, do we have to send them anywhere or is this the pile we hand over to the folks who will *hopefully*give us visas?
Sorry if it seems like a lame question, I just came to realize that the whole process so far has been about converting one kind of paperwork into another, and I feel like I need to stuff the medicals in an envelope with lots of $$$ to get back another unimpressive piece of paper:p

I vote for:

when you apply for a work visa or PR, you submit the completed medical forms and the FBI card along with the completed visa application forms and the $$.

Thanks Avril! I hope this is the case. Just found out that hubby's x-ray shows he has scoliosis:no , so we need to get the x-ray and bring it, too. *sigh*

If you are US Citizens, it's *free* to apply for a work visas to NZ.

If you don't see your state on this list, then send your packets to their DC office. Good luck and see you in Wellington I hope!

I have scoliosis, too, but my GP and radiologist did not tick a box indicating abnormalty needing follow up, so I did not have to send my Xrays. Obviously, my scoliosis was not a problem because they didn't ask me for further info.

Did either your GP or radiologist tick an abnormal box?

Hey Chris, yep, they ticked it. That way actually how we initially found out, as we were reviewing the stack of papers. No one mentioned it to us.

This was an old post; we'll have to get medicals again *when* we get ready to move, as they expire in 2 weeks.
