There are those who would disagree and want to get as much information, warts and all, about other folks' experiences, so it does have a place in that context, mclarity. Personally I don't tend to read this board as it holds less interest for me, but then, we're all diferent :D

We came to NZ to 'give it a go', so a board about the costs and experiences of those returning is invaluable to me. It would have been nice to have it up and running before we came out here, so we could factor in the costs of returning if we chose to.

For many of us, coming to NZ is not a black and white issue. For us, we always knew we might head back after a few years as part of our adventure. Others are just unsure about their decision and want to read about those that changed their minds. If you identify with one of the posters you might decide NZ isn't for you and just come for a holiday and save yourself a lot of money and heartache! :yes

Alternatively you might read it and think 'what are they on about?!' and it might make you even more secure in you decision to emigrate.

I'm not sure of how many people who emigrate to NZ do decide its not for them (anyone know a percentage? :confused: ), but it is all part of the big picture.

IMHO I do feel those who are willing to accept it might not be their dream destination are more likely to make the most of the experience whether they decide to stay or go. :nice1

I've been guilty of that in the past and the moderator has just normally moved it to a more appropriate board.
