Hi All.

Does any one know about the reciprocal agreements between UK and NZ ??

To be more specific, someone asked me if I knew if Disabled Living Allowance ( that has apparently been granted to him for life) was still payable from the UK if the recipient lived (I assume permanently, 'cos his wife has been granted PR ) in NZ?

I said I would look for some links for them, but I can't find any that relates to other countries other than the EU., so I thought I would ask on here.

Can anyone help ??..................

Thanks,

Julie

Best place for him to ask would be the UK Benefits Agency or to contact a disability information line/centre. I would have thought you need to meet certain residency conditions in the UK to qualify for UK benefits (although i'm aware older people can move away and claim their pensions still, although not sure this is considered a 'benefit' as such).
I would suggest he ask the disability allowance office, rather than relying on info from NZ (horses mouth versus hearsay). Or look up disability living allowance on the web and look at any section regarding residency and what sort of criteria you need to meet/what sort of changes you should tell them about.
good luck

Thats exactly what I said, but I couldn't help when asked about reciprocal agreements, apart from to say that I thought that they only applied to health care and/ or old age pensions.

Thanks Hannah, I'll pass it on.
