We have a few furniture items that need repair. One is a table that needs to be refinished. It's a dining room table that has three extensions so all the pieces would need to be refinished.

The others are a broken drawer on an end table, hinges on an armoire and hinges on a cabinet door.

Would this be worth fixing before we left for NZ? Does anyone know of someone in NZ that can do this for a reasonable price?

Lastly, our couch needs a good cleaning. Anyone have that done there? Just trying to get an idea of prices and availability. We'll either end up in Auckland or Wellington so try to find people in those areas.

Thanks for any help with this. Just trying to minimize what has to be done before we head over!

I expect the furniture repairs would be much cheaper in the US. All tradeswork here is very expensive. I understand you might not have time though. Might make more sense to wait until you get here to get the couch cleaned as it might get dirty or stale smelling after weeks in a container. By the way, its called a lounge suite here, or a sofa.

I chose to not to have settees clean beforehand just in case get damp or damaged on way. On arrival in NZ, one of my settee did get rusty mark by shipping container and have claimed on insurance to have it clean done in NZ.
