Hi Forum Friends.
Me & hubby are going to do the WP, EOI for PR whilst in NZ. Have any of you heard or come across such a plan failing. It won't deter us but I'm curious as to why a failing & if there might be some possible pitfalls to watch out for.Have a job offer & applying LSS.

Hi

No I haven't heard of anyone having problems, so long as they have what is required for PR. We came across on Work Visas under my job as it was on the ISSL but couldn't apply for PR. My job was classed as skilled for the ISSL category but not classed as skilled for PR!! However, once here my OH got a job that was on the skilled list and we now have PR. If you have a job offer and it's on the LSS I can't see why you'd have a problem. You'd do well to try and apply for PR within 3 months of your last medical though so you don't have to have another one!

We came on visitors visas (having had our EOI selected), THEN got work permits and then PR - all in a space of 6 mths. It can be done and many do it this way, mostly younger and child-free imho.

Thanks very much for the advice. We'll be going on visitors visas as we don't have the time for submitting anything this end. So we will stick to plan A & do it all in NZ.

We're doing something similar - we are submitting our ITA to London next month then heading over as visitors (and having ITA transferred to NZ to be processed) - seems to be the simplest/quickest way to get over there and get work etc
We've done loads of research into it and I agree with the other replies - it'll be fine - just go for it

We have two young kids and another on the way but we're still going for it - the best question to ask yourself is what's to lose?
Good luck!
