Just a quick one, can anyone help with how long on average does it take from the container ship arriving in NZ until you actually received your container at your house ?. One of my friends said hers took two weeks, but someone else said theirs took two days. (am trying to work out whether ours will need to go into storage or will end up timing in nicely with completion on the house..., the law of life makes me suspect if you want it to take two weeks, it takes 2 days and vice versa!)

Ours took a matter of days, if MAF do the inspection at your home there really shouldn't be much of a delay but you may have to apply a bit of firm pressure on your delivery company so that things don't drift.

You should be able to get a delivery date out of them before the container docks, I found that frequent calls to NZvanlines and hand delivering the necessary documents to them speeded things up a bit. Some shipping companies have online trackers so you can see exactly where your container is.

It all depends how long customs take to clear your container, ours was cleared the sameday, and the stuff was delivered a week later, but have known just a few boxes to take upto three weeks to be cleared and delivered, also depends on both time of year and how busy they are.

Our container took a week from harbour to home. Depends on your moving company as well.
