We went last year ......it was fantastic ..........and soooo cheap [we were mean and only let the kids choose one fairground ride each.]
We are going on Saturday .
Last year the highlights for us were seeing a sheep being sheared, the log cutting show, the kids enjoyed the circus and the show. There was an Art exhibition and Photograhy exhibition .There were farm animals to feed and pet too.
Really recommend it .

Nik and 3 year old Peter went yesterday, ( I had to work so this is a second-hand report, sorry.) They had a great time, Nik was amazed by the motorcycle cage riders, Peter rode some little carnival rides and had his photo taken with Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck (but not Dora because she was scary, apparently) and laughed hysterically at the clowns in the circus. I asked Peter what his favourite was, he said ''the motorcycles". (They did other stuff too, but those seemed to be their highlights.)
Nik said it was just like an American state fair (although that comparison probably won't help non-Americans much).

Well I think that's decided us, we're definitely going to go just as long as the weather holds up!

This really is a good day out, we didn't get round to half the stuff because our kids ran out of puff! :D
But for those thinking of going tomorrow, this is what we saw:
1) Over the Hedge Show - 3 characters from the film doing various songs/dances. Probably a bit dull for older children, but voted best thing today by my 5 year old.
2) The Circus - really good, with lots of short acts so the little ones don't get bored. My 3 year old thought the motorbike cage and the juggler were the best. It gets quite hot in there which is why they sell fans!
3) The farm 'bit' - had sheep, cows, goats that you could stroke and some little baby chics. Also some real diggers you could sit on for those not so into animals.
4) Photo with Spongebob and Patrick, we only had to wait a couple of minutes for the boys to have a chance to hug their heroes.
5) Watched the climbing wall challenge and saw one person get to the top and win $100, saw plenty of others fail!
6) Fairground rides - lots of these, but we didn't really have time in the end.
7) Bought Giant Hulk Hammer Inflatables - $6 each and they have been bashing each other with them ever since. :laugh
8) Lots of places to eat, anything from candyfloss to sushi.
We arrived at about 9.30ish and it was great, hardly any traffic, not too many people. By about 12ish the place was packed and you had to queue more, like others have said its very easy to spend a whole day there.
Its also easy to spend plenty of money, although there are enough free things if you are not interested in the rides.
The boys should sleep well tonight. :clap
Cheers
