Hello all,

Do you think it would be a good idea to enquire with the NZIS about the ITA application on where they have reached in terms of processing? This is because I have not heard from them since I submitted my ITA. Its been 6 weeks now and its frustrating. Do you think they would have rejected it ot if I do ask them they may reject it ?

Please advise !

hi - i'd say 6 weeks probably isn't a huge amount of time to wait for a reply to an ITA. you wont hear anything till they assign a case officer. a couple of weeks ago they were allocating files up to 11 December so you may have a bit of a wait yet.

I think you may have a long time to wait still. If you look at some of the earlier threads 10 to 12 weeks before being assigned a case officer is fairly standard at the moment.

I don't think you should be worrying about rejection.

Hi Neffertitti,

We submitted 3 days after you and havn't heard anything either. To be honest I don't think we will until about June or so. We have had a letter from them saying that it will be about 4 months so i wouldn't hold your breath.

Good luck though.

We submitted ours on the 23rd of Feb 2007 and havent heard anything yet either. We have heard rumours that the interviews which are usually in April/May are only going to be in June/July in SA.

All that running around to get things in time and now all we can do is wait :)

Quite a rollercoaster!!

Thanks everyone. I shall just wait for 'em to communicate with me. I have been applying for jobs from here ( london) and its proving to be fruitless. I think its better to have the right paperwork and then appy for the jobs as no one would like to take you on-board without a PR or WP. Anyways let's see what happens.

Anyone of you got any ideas of the interview questions being asked ? I managed to gather a few from other posts - hope it helps -

-What will you do when you arrive?
-Why NZ?
-What do you know about yr industry in NZ?
-How much do you expect to earn?
-How much will you need to live on?
-Where will you live?
-How much will a rental be?
-How much will you pay for yr house?
-What will you do if you don't have a job before you get here?
-When do you want to come?
-How will you make friends?
-Have you ever moved before?

Another thing is that I think Christine McKain has left the NZIS. Not really sure. I think she left as at 09/03

In a letter sent by NZIS/London notifying me they rec'd my ITA packet I was informed it could take up to 6 mos. I waited....and waited. The date came and went. No word. I sent an email to the fellow to whom my case was assigned. Return email said only that he was no longer with NZIS. Panic!! On whose desk, if anyone's, was all that hard work/personal information/my file? Shortly thereafter I rec'd notice my case had been reassigned and it moved along quickly after that with a delightful officer who was absolutely wonderful to work with.

I found an excellent thread on interview questions that helped prepare me for the interview. Search this site to see if you can find it.

Current processing times on the web site say 1 to 3 months, but really I think 3 months plus is normal without a job offer. If you do have a job offer, then by now you should have a case officer. It can't hurt to send a quick email to the contact email address asking if you have a case officer assigned yet. Worse case they will say no - I'm pretty sure they won't have a hissy fit and throw your ITA back to the bottom of the pile. They are nice people, just overworked by all us potential immigrants trying to flee the country! *grin*

Well i think I am bit sceptical as i don't think i shall contact them as they may worsen the CO allocation. I am just gonna wait and see. I think its affirmitive that Christine McKain has left NZIS london. She was a nice person to really talk to.

Does anyone think there might be a high turnover of staff hence the workload being pile up ?

migratory birds - where exactly is the forum for Interview questions? As you can see previously I managed to collect a few.
