Having just had a quote for this (£1780) I feel like "how hard can it be?" Shipped 2 labs abroad before, but by ferry, so rather different....But the logistics and timing aren't rocket science .... has any one out there done it themselves?

Please say yes.....

I'm in the process of shipping the dog via GOLDEN ARROW. It's an expensive process (£2200 for a rather fat labrador), but it's fairly straightforward. Plenty of people on this forum have shipped animals successfully. :nice1

How much????? We've got two large dogs. What should we budget for? Just had an attack of the vapours reading that price. Good job we're leaving 3 cats and 6 horses really.

Stick it in your container with some water and a food dispenser? Any good container ship will be able to let it out for walkies if they have the correct financial incentive.........

Insert smilies as needed for the humour impaired ;)

I have 3 large dogs and one small dog and have received quotes that vary from £7,700 to £10,000. Some will deal with all the vets bits (worming, faecal samples yuk!!! etc... these are the cheaper ones). Not yet decided which to use as we are not going yet.

and then you can add another $1500 to $2000 for one large dog if you are from a country where you have to quarantine your dog. thats for 30 days, if you are from south africa its four months, so yes, by the end of this you will have spent enough money to buy a new car, but hey they are our dogs......!!

I paid £1500 for a Cocker Spaniel using Golden Arrow. I did have a few thoughts about trying to do it myself but wanted the reassurance of using someone to take care of her. Too many unknowns for me to risk it. I’m sure you could do it yourself though.
