Does anyone know how long NZQA are taking and is it worth fast tracking? Really fed up as we will not be able to send it for another 2-3 weeks. We will need them to take no longer than 8 weeks if we are to get the ITA in on time. Please help this desperado!! :uhoh

Hi
When we had our EOI we had the pre assessment done. And after submitting the ITA our case officer told us we had to have a full assessment. We apid for a fast track about 4 weeks ago and still nothing. I emailed them last week and was told she posted me a LETTER asking for more info. Can't believe it was a letter and not an email as it takes so long to arrive. Anyway still waiting. Our case officer is getting abit upset about the timescale but my consultant told him that it's not our fault. I have read on forms that some people have waited months and some weeks. Think it is just your luck. I beleive they have been swamped at NZQA because now everyone applying has to have a full assessment done. You should drop them an email and then at the very least you will be given the name and email of your NZQA case officer. All the best

Hi
We submitted a fast track application in the post on 5th March. I heard from my evaluator via e-mail on 19th March saying that he had received our application and I needed to follow some instructions to help get our documents verified. I did what he asked and got back to him that same day having done the necessary steps he had asked for and he e-mailed back to say that he was still waiting for a third party to come back to him and as soon as he had heard from this third party he would continue assessing our case and we should hear about a week after that.
Needless to say we are still waiting but it hasn't taken that long so far only one month since putting the docs in the post. Although we are still waiting, I don't regret fast-tracking our application because I think fast-tracking meant that he actually looked at our application sooner than he would have done if we had just submitted a normal application. Not cheap though!
I guess how long it takes can depend on a lot of things - like getting docs verified and needing more information etc. If I haven't heard anything by the end of April I will get in touch with him again as then it would have been 2 months for a fast-tracked application.

Hi
Quick update. I got a suprise in the post this morning - ie. my completed assessment report from NZQA. Posted it off from the UK on 5th March and received today on my doorstep 10th April. I did fast-track and in total (including post time & time for verification of degree) it took 5 weeks.
I would recomment fast-tracking if you are in a hurry and you can afford the extra cash.

Finally got some positive response from NZQA last night.
We have got ourselves an evaluator - don't know who, and they have written to our training provider for further information.
Wish we had gone fast track but this does not speed up the contacts in your home country, only the nzqa people.
They had our paperwork on 26th Feb and have only just passed to an evaluator.
We are contacting training provider ourselves to see if we can hurry things along and to pay the data protection fee in advance to cut out any delays. Only 5 weeks till OH has to give notice at work for us to make Spetember deadline.
One good thing is that police checks have come back clean, so may start teacher registration with nzqa assessment still pending
