Hi all

Can a girl get more stressed than this?? (Guess I could break a nail or something as well.... :laugh :laugh ). I need to know your thoughts/experiences if poss. We have had our EOI selected from pool and now had job offer - rang NZIS on Monday - they told us ok to email it through as it was on email anyway so we did. Now find that the address they told us to use was just the normal one on their website and got a strange message back saying that they can only answer general enquiries etc. and to contact local office which we did again and were told to fax which I thought was the right thing to do anyway - grrrr. So that's four days down the pan... Up till now we used an agent to do the EOI, however having received their bill we feel they are a complete ripoff and don't want to use them anymore. From what I understand once we receive ( :hopeso ) ITA our form for PR should be fairly simple to complete - is that right?? I have got most of the documentation ready (just waiting for a couple of ex-employers to get their act together - the only one being completely unhelpful is naturally my husband's father - stress levels rising :eek :eek ). Medicals hopefully will be early January and Police checks are applied for - all copies of everything certified etc etc. Any thoughts? Also new employer is accredited and apparently they can fast track visas - but I think that may only be for Work Visas (which obviously we may have to go for if PR doesn't happen before mid Feb) - can anyone throw any light on my total confusion?

:? :?

Thanks guys.

hello helga

the ita is actually the printed form of your EOI plus a few pages for any ammendment, your signature, pictures and form of payment.

Hi Helga,
Sounds like you've got it mostly under control. I know you probably don't think so but if you have your meds, polce checks and employer experience letters etc available when you ITA comes it really is as simple as Cathy says.
We had everything ready etc and wre processed pretty promptly.
As for an agent - we haven't used one and really didn't need one from now on its palin sailing.
You should have a case officer contact and USE THEM thats what they're there for - ours was lovely and it pays for them to see you as a person ratjer than an EOI number.

Hope all goes well :hopeso

Thanks Linda and Cathy

Pleased to report I'm slightly calmer now - just looking forward to that G&T time of day now.... :yes

I'm glad it is that simple and we will definitely ditch the agents - they never seem to know the answer to any of our questions and I end up finding it out myself anyway and then they charge us vast amounts for the call - if I had found this forum first I would NEVER have used them.

The person we are dealing with even admitted to me that they had never done an EOI for a family before!!! I had to point out that it might be nice if my children were included....

We'll take our chances with the NZIS as you suggest. Thank you :nice1

Hi Helga,

Things are a lot simpler than it is made out by agents. The job offer only took a couple of days to verify - a week in total for us to receive ITA - so timing-wise you're doing great. :nice1

Having said that - I can relate to how frustrating this all is - and how its really easy because there's so much going on to feel helpless in this all.

Only bit of advice, go and get passport photos done soon and then you won't be rushing round trying to get them on your way to the medical/once the ITA arrives. :eek
